Because of a lack of attendance by the public, the Kern Valley Long Term Recovery Group decided to change the date, time and place of the Monthly Community Meetings. We have not had many show up to the meetings the past couple of months, but we still want to continue to hold the meetings for anyone that is interested, or who has ideas of how to continue to rebuild after the Erskine Fire.
The meetings will now be held on the 4th Monday of the month right after the Executive Committee Meeting starting at between 9:45 – 10:00 a.m. at Faith Community Church in the Upper Room at 20 Panorama Dr., Wofford Heights.
Permits being pulled for first full rebuild project
The Kern Valley Long Term Recovery Group, in partnership with Mennonite Disaster Services, has submitted plans for the first full rebuild project to the Kern County building and inspection department. All of the volunteer labor will be provided, however housing will be needed for the volunteers. If you have access to a place for a team of volunteers to stay during construction, please reach out to email@example.com.
