On May 27, 2018, local filmmaking group Pretty Tough Pictures will be showing their award-winning short film Fallon at The Reel Cinema, located in Wofford Heights. Fallon is a gritty Indie film created entirely by Kern Valley High School students for the Kern High School’s District annual 24 Hour Film Project (24 HFP). The 24 HFP is a film competition that encourages student filmmakers to think outside the box by providing them with a required film genre, prop, line of dialogue, and character. All films were made in 24 hours.

Fallon won Best Picture for its genre and went on to win third place overall. The ‘80s-inspired motion picture follows Fallon, an angsty teenager, who has to learn to cope with the death of her parents, all while navigating the responsibilities of her newly bestowed mythical powers. Pre-screening activities will begin at 7:45 p.m. at The Reel Cinema, located at 6742 Wofford Heights Blvd.

Activities include movie trivia, a meet and greet with the cast and crew, and a special appearance made by local filmmaker Chuck Barbee. A short screening of the film will then commence, followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew. Admission is free. We look forward to seeing you at this out of the bottle event!
