AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM


The next AARP Driver Safety Class www.aarpdriversafety.org will be held August 21st, Tuesday (an all-day class) from 8 am to 5 pm at the Kern River Valley Historical Society Annex (across the street from the museum at 49 Big Blue Rd. in Kernville). Participants must attend the entire day. The course does not involve driving, but does emphasize safe driving procedures for older drivers. In California, a certificate of course completion usually entitles the participant to a reduction in their auto insurance for three years following the date of the class. All materials & workbooks have been updated & include the latest driving information.

Geico offers a 5 percent to 15 percent discount to policyholders who successfully complete a driver improvement or defensive driver class and meet certain other requirements. In most states, you must be 50 or 55 years of age before the discount can be applied for taking a driver safety class.
